Shining Our Light: Spirit Teams Build Custom Lighthouses at St. Augustine
In early September, the students and staff at St. Augustine School in Wilcox gathered into their Spirit Teams, each named after an iconic Canadian lighthouse, for a special hands-on project that ties into the annual division faith theme, "Shine Your Light".
Every team designed and built its own terra cotta lighthouse topped with a solar light, complete with team members' names painted on the rocks surrounding the base.
The finished creations turned out wonderfully. Once a protective clear coat is applied, these bright additions will be proudly displayed in the school’s front entryway to welcome visitors and shine a light for the whole community.
